WHAT TO EXPECT
The Prairie Pothole Region is the duck factory of the US. North Dakota holds massive numbers of nesting and migrating birds, and lands are easily accessed in this state to hunt. In addition to insane duck hunting, they also have some of the best goose hunting in the nation, and they even have an early goose season that starts Aug 15th! When late season rolls around be prepared for brutal cold and winds, but countless birds. If a guy considers himself a waterfowler, ND is a place you want to visit, hunt or even live!
Mid-Season
Weather expected to be moderate, temps in the mid 30’s, 10- 20 MPH
winds and slight chance of precipitation
Traveling to hunting spots will be by truck and foot.
Targeted Species = Snow Goose, Ross Goose, Blue Goose, Specklebelly, Hooded Merganser, Tundra Swan
Secondary Species = Canvasback, Lesser Scaup, Ringneck, Hooded Merganser, Cacklers.
Hunting will be out of Field blinds or shore blinds.
