HUNT WRITE UP BY LUKE CLARK

WHAT TO EXPECT

I’m not from Wisconsin, but I have had the chance to hunt the state numerous times over the years. From Central Wisconsin to the Mississippi Delta near Prairie du Chien, the state holds home to some excellent “classic” Midwest waterfowling.

  • Temps ranging from hot and humid (Sept) to cold (January)

  • Boat not needed, but can help, especially if you plan to hunt the Mississippi River

  • Lots of private access and city/town zoning to navigate is chasing birds in fields

  • Grain Fields, Marshes, River bottoms and Some Lakes

  • Targeted Species - Mallards, Pintail, Canada Geese, Black Ducks, Canvasback

Mallards / Pintail / Canada Geese / Black Ducks / Canvasback
